1/2 yard of material for the exterior bag
1/2 yard of material for the lining
2 yards of 1 1/2” to 2” of matching silk ribbon for
trim (wired ribbon is okay, wire can be removed) —OR— 1/4 yard of silk (raw) duponi for trim
1 yard of muslin for interfacing
1/3 yard of Fast 2 Fuse Hard Interfacing
1/4 yard of Iron-On Vinyl
Thread to match or to contrast
Four buttons 3/4” to 1”
Four buttons 1/2” to 5/8”
One set of two handles with attached metal rings
Anna Handbag
The Anna bag is a vintage inspired ladylike handbag with charming details such as the button tabs for the handles and the gathered sides. The lining includes 4 ample pockets to safely tuck your keys or cell phone in.
Fabric suggestions include designer or home decorator fabrics. Tapestry with a pattern centered on the front/back pieces of the exterior bag will give a huge impact. Use a bright color of thread for a fun topstitching contrast. I only ask that you love the fabrics that you chose. Cotton and duponi (raw) silk are great for the lining of the bag.
