Size and Material Requirments:
The vest front can be made using woven fabrics like cottons, silks, tapestries, faux fur, denim & woolens ... or go glam with lace over a stable background fabric like taffeta. The back could be made from the same materials used for the front or from solid jacquard silks (best for the corseted back section). Use light, flowing fabric, like chiffons for the ties.
The following fabric yardages are for all sizes. All sizes included in this pattern are as follows; XS, missy sizes 4-6, Small, missy sizes 6-8, Med, missy sizes 10-12, LG, missy sizes 14.
For Corseted Vest
1 1/8 yards of fabric for vest front & back
OR 7/8 yard for vest front & 7/8 yard for vest back
7/8 yard for the back panel & gathering back panel
1 1/8 yards of fabric for the lining to 1.5” wide for lacing ties
Thread to match or to contrast.
Racer Back Vest Materials
1 1/8 yards for vest front & back
OR 7/8 yard for vest front & 7/8 yard for vest back 1
1/8 yards of fabric for lining
1⁄4 yard of “So Sheer” interfacing
1/3 yard for back ties
